On 2^nd July, our S6 students gathered at the Harbour Grand Hotel in Whampoa Garden for their Graduation Dinner. It was a fantastic evening with a great turnout. The night was packed with activities, giving everyone a final chance to bond as a cohort. Students threw themselves into a competitive game of Kahoot, snapped plenty of photos to remember the night, and enjoyed a buffet dinner together. It was also a meaningful opportunity for the graduates to catch up with their teachers and show their gratitude for all the support over the years.

Since February 2026, 16 Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students have participated in the UNICEF “SDG Actioner Challenge for Ethnic Minority Youth” programme to study Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and food waste management. Coordinated by the NCS Students’ Education Working Group and the Geography Subject Panel, these students recently ran a Circular Waste Re-creation Workshop. Following an introduction to SDGs by the Geography Society, the NCS students taught participants how to recycle food waste—such as vegetable scraps and fruit peels—into pigments, candles, and cleaning agents to promote sustainable daily habits.

In June, our school organised the “AI Art Creation Challenge”, attracting approximately 80 primary school participants from across Hong Kong.

After attending a digital art and AI workshop, students competed in either the “Futuristic” or “Cosmic” category, using artificial intelligence to re-examine traditional Chinese aesthetics with high-technology and cosmic elements. Alumna Professor Janet Fong Man Yee from the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University served as the adjudicator and consultant.

Selected winning entries will be exhibited at the MTR Yau Ma Tei Station Community Art Gallery in July.

Our school held its annual Speech Day and Lantern Passing Ceremony on 26^th June, celebrating the achievements of the S6 graduating class.

The event featured a guest speech by our alumna, Professor Yeung Siu Sze, Associate Vice President (Quality Assurance) at the Education University of Hong Kong, who presented the graduation certificates and shared advice with the graduates.

Following this, the traditional Lantern Passing Ceremony took place, where S6 students handed over the symbolic lantern to S5 students to represent the transfer of responsibility and school spirit.

Additionally, Principal Dr Mui announced the establishment of the Permanent Xu Jing Association, a platform to help former students maintain connections and contribute to the school’s development. The school thanks all guests and parents for their attendance and wishes the S6 graduates success in their future endeavours.

In May 2026, the Planning Department conducted a two-day outreach programme for our school. The event featured informative exhibition boards and an interactive Mobile Exhibition Centre stationed at our school. Representatives from the Development Bureau, Mr Chan Lee Yick Tonny and Mr Tao Kwok Kei Angus, delivered a talk on the smart, green, and resilient development strategies for the Northern Metropolis, followed by an engaging student Q&A session. An inter-class urban planning quiz was also held. Ms Yiu Yuk Isabel from the Planning Department presented certificates to the winning classes.

The school extends its thanks to the Planning Department for providing these educational opportunities.

The school recently held its International Culture Week to celebrate diversity and cultural identities. Co-organised by the English Society, the Chinese, History, Music, and Visual Arts departments, the four-day programme provided students with a wide range of cross-cultural experiences.

The event commenced with a focus on European heritage, featuring classical art showcases, stained-glass craft workshops, and language games. On the second day, activities highlighted the traditions of South and Southeast Asia, where students participated in Henna and Rangoli art sessions, sampled traditional sweets, viewed regional attire, and attended a Nepalese dance performance. The third day centred on English-speaking nations, offering idiom challenges, tongue twisters, and craft sessions focusing on Aboriginal dot painting and dreamcatchers. The week then concluded with a comprehensive celebration of Chinese culture. This final day featured mask-painting workshops, a cheongsam exhibition organised in partnership with the Chinese Cheongsam Association, a performance by the Chinese Orchestra, and traditional tanghulu treats.

Overall, the event offered students an engaging way to explore different global traditions and cultures.
