On 10^th September, the Student Union celebrated Teachers’ Day during the assembly. Students from various forms first showcased their appreciation through paintings, a board display and a live singing performance.  

Following the performances, Principal Dr Mui delivered a speech reflecting on the duty and significance of dedicated educators. The Parent-Teacher Association then presented thoughtful gifts to the teachers, accepted on their behalf by the Principal, concluding the event in honour of the teaching staff’s contributions.

Students from the four True Light Schools participated in a two-week summer language programme at the University of Toronto. On campus, participants attended interactive English classes aimed at enhancing their language proficiency.

To complement their academic studies, the itinerary featured a variety of cultural excursions and local activities. Students visited landmarks such as the CN Tower, Niagara Falls, the Toronto Islands, and the Royal Ontario Museum. They also experienced Canadian sporting culture through a Blue Jays baseball game, a tour of the Hockey Hall of Fame, and a public broadcast of the FIFA World Cup final.

By engaging in these real-world experiences, students broadened their practical English skills, gained insight into Canadian life, and developed greater self-reliance.

Committee members of the Geography Society participated in the “Be a Teen Town Planner – Planning for a Liveable New Community” Competition 2026, organised by the Planning Department.

After being shortlisted for the final round, the team attended a guided visit to the Queen’s Hill area to observe planning initiatives by the Development Bureau and the Planning Department. The activity was filmed by RTHK for the upcoming television programme “Government and You.”

Following the final adjudication by a panel of town planners and engineers in mid-July, the school team was awarded the Outstanding Award.

The Student Union organised its annual Fashion Show, providing a platform for students to demonstrate their artistic and design skills through collaboration. Models walked the runway presenting hand-sewn garments that featured a variety of colours and craftsmanship.

Following the evaluation, the representative from Class 5C secured the Overall Championship, while the representative from Class 5A won the Most Popular Award.

On 2^nd July, our S6 students gathered at the Harbour Grand Hotel in Whampoa Garden for their Graduation Dinner. It was a fantastic evening with a great turnout. The night was packed with activities, giving everyone a final chance to bond as a cohort. Students threw themselves into a competitive game of Kahoot, snapped plenty of photos to remember the night, and enjoyed a buffet dinner together. It was also a meaningful opportunity for the graduates to catch up with their teachers and show their gratitude for all the support over the years.

From 1^st to 5^th July 2026, S3-5 Geography and History students participated in a five-day educational tour to South Korea.

During the trip, students visited the Seoul Energy Dream Centre and the Seoul Citizen Safety Experience Centre to learn about energy-efficient technologies, climate action, and hazard resilience through VR simulations. For geography fieldwork, students collected data at Sorae Ecology Park and Cheonggyecheon to evaluate urban liveability and sustainability. The itinerary also featured a visit to the Demilitarized Zone and a cultural exchange with student ambassadors at Sookmyung Women’s University.

The tour concluded with student group presentations investigating whether urban development in Seoul is sustainable, allowing participants to apply their academic knowledge to real-world environments.

Since February 2026, 16 Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students have participated in the UNICEF “SDG Actioner Challenge for Ethnic Minority Youth” programme to study Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and food waste management. Coordinated by the NCS Students’ Education Working Group and the Geography Subject Panel, these students recently ran a Circular Waste Re-creation Workshop. Following an introduction to SDGs by the Geography Society, the NCS students taught participants how to recycle food waste—such as vegetable scraps and fruit peels—into pigments, candles, and cleaning agents to promote sustainable daily habits.
