Activities to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression

In August and September, our school commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression with a series of meaningful activities. These initiatives were designed to deepen understanding of the heroic efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and the war’s significance.

The commemoration began with teaching staff visiting the Hong Kong Museum of History’s special exhibition on 27th August 2025, gaining valuable insights. At the start of September, a photo exhibition in the mini-hall enabled students to explore the war’s devastating impact. Inside the classroom, the History department designed a lesson for senior students to analyse the war’s reshaped modern China’s development and national identity.

On 3rd September, all students and staff gathered to watch the live broadcast of the 2025 China Victory Day Parade. That same day, the school choir took part in the “Remember History, Cherish Peace” Memorial Concert, performing The Song of the Sunlight and The Colourful Earth.

Through these activities, students developed a deeper historical awareness and a sense of patriotism, reinforcing their understanding of national identity. By honouring the sacrifices of the past, they are better prepared to contribute positively to society and uphold the values of peace and unity.
